Vegetable Fiber - Oil Paper - Fish Paper

Oil / Water Compatible Automotive / Industrial Electrical Insulation

Vegetable fiber (often called Detroiter) is a treated cellulose material impregnated with protein glue and glycerin binder. It performs well in sealing applications up to 250°F, offering strength, flexibility, compressibility, and resistance to heavy pressure. Chemically treated to be compatible with oils, water, alcohol, grease, air, gas, gasoline, and solvents, it is widely used in the industrial, chemical, petroleum, petrochemical, and automotive sectors.

Oil paper jointing, a cellulose fiber base with plasticized chemical treatment, resists oil, petrol, air, water, alcohol, grease, and most solvents. It is ideal for engines, axles, pumps, pipes, and tank flanges in automotive, marine, aero, and agricultural industries.

Fish paper is a vulcanized fiber electrical insulator that is durable and flexible, suitable for motor windings, gasket insulation, and oil-filled transformers. This lightweight dielectric material provides reliable performance in electrical applications.
