Fluorosilicone (FVMQ) is a silicone-based elastomer with trifluoropropyl side groups added to the polymer chain, providing mechanical and physical properties similar to standard silicone (VMQ) while offering superior resistance to fuels, mineral oils, solvents, and hydrocarbons. FVMQ delivers excellent low-temperature flexibility (down to -60°C or lower) and heat resistance up to ~200°C, though with slightly reduced hot-air stability compared to VMQ. It features low compression set, good ozone/UV resistance, and is peroxide-cured. Primarily used in aerospace for fuel system seals (e.g., jet fuel exposure), as well as automotive and chemical applications, FVMQ O-rings suit static sealing due to low abrasion resistance. Meets MIL-DTL-25988C Type I, Class 1, Grade 70. Typically blue in color, they have virtually unlimited shelf life
