Viton® (fluoroelastomer, FKM) is Chemours' high-performance fluorocarbon rubber, celebrated for exceptional resistance to extreme temperatures (-20°C to +200°C continuous), ozone, weathering, fuels, mineral oils, hydraulic fluids, aromatics, and many chemicals/solvents. Viton O-rings are essential in harsh applications across aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, chemical processing, and power generation, sealing engines, fuel systems, pumps, and valves. Performance depends on fluorine content: higher levels boost chemical resistance but impair low-temperature flexibility. Standard Type A compounds (66% fluorine) provide balanced properties. Typically black or brown, they offer superior compression set resistance and extended service life in aggressive environments.
